Biography

S.J. Ellison, is a retired Distance Learning tutor, previously working for Stephenson College, in Coalville, Leicestershire. Her mature students were from diverse professions , including the health and social care sector. Historically, she was a fully qualified Registered Nurse on the NMC register and employed by several well-known international companies as the appointed Matron of several large nursing homes. The ideas for her novels were inspired by extensive experiences, incidents and anecdotes whilst working in a health and social care environment. It draws on historical and verbal narrative of how things might have been in care homes, prior to C.Q.C. standards, which later came into force in 2008.

The novels have been well researched, including the conditions of Dementia with Lewy Bodies, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Alzheimer’s. Actual references to certain typical criminal acts carried out by the Japanese during the Second World War, have been researched using material from a variety of sources.
